Freak on a Leash
Freak on a Leash.
Looking at the title above, the first thing that would come to mind would be the song by metal band Korn.Delving deeper into the lyrics of the song, one would come across these particular lines (Korn fans, you need no introduction to this).
“Sometimes I cannot take this place
Sometimes it's my life I can't taste
Sometimes I cannot feel my face
You'll never see me fall from grace”
Makes me ask the obvious, are we freaks on leashes? here’s my side as to why maybe we are, looking at a average person lives (and I am being stereotypical), lets begun from the time when we are growing up, how many times have we been told not to behave in some sort of manner because it was against social norm, for instance, not to slurp our soup to loudly, to say thank you upon receiving something, to say excuse me, to raise our hand when we have a question and so on, harmless little etiquette's then, small request’s that soon become the very basis to the beginning of our conformation self and the end of the free spirited creative being that we were all meant to be. Moving on to the later years, we are required to finish school, get a diploma/ degree and soon after we are working for a large multinational maybe, wearing what I called the “dog tag”.
The “dog tag” or punch/ID card which they usually call it is worn by the subjects (I now refer to them as subjects as they are different bodies operating with one coherent mind.) and are for them to punch in an out of office, so that their hours are clocked.
Well, these invisible chains which people are so proudly seen adoring even during their lunch breaks and after hours really is surprising. How low one ’s self esteem or self believe must be for them to borrow the image of the organization they work for in order to look good. Well, why the lyrics, here let me try summarize the concept I am trying to depict for you:
1)“Sometimes I cannot take this place”- How many times do we here from this described group how they dislike their job, are not happy, feel unfulfilled, so on but yet the stick to it because they like being associated with big names.
2)“Sometimes it's my life I can't taste”- Its such a conflict between what goes on inside and outside these individuals that they just “adapt” make the best out of the situation, not allowing themselves to be really live and experience life as they “actually” would like.
3)“Sometimes I cannot feel my face”- being stuck in the situation, they have learn how to suppress everything so much so they become so numb to everything else and to the opportunities that life has to offer.
4)“You'll never see me fall from grace”- However, no matter how hard this inner conflict, pressure and dissatisfaction, they refuse to take that bold step and change for fear of losing what they are so comfortable with, topped with the fact that they have such low self believe and are not proactive enough to take the “necessary risks”.
The message here is that an awareness is trying to be created so that if you are one who feels that you can related to what has been said above, then maybe this posting might help you, what it’s not intended to do is criticize or insult anyone for there is nothing wrong in being the so called “freak on a leash”, but if you feel that these chains have been holding you back from your true calling, then like rap queen Missy Elliot says, maybe its time to “get your freak on”.

How paying toll might help you reach your Goal.
Having moved house recently has been a learning process for there are many things we can use to our advantage. Firstly, getting rid of the junk we have accumulated for years becomes far easier, especially when you are tired of packing and loosely decide that most of the stuff could be trash can material. However, there too are many things that we would probably need getting used to, one of the many I had to get used to was paying toll every time I needed to get somewhere. Unless I was not going very far, most of the places I needed to go involved bypassing the route which had toll, which, alternatively I would have to get stuck it traffic which is certainly not something worth the while at any cost (or maybe I exaggerate, but I’m sure if you are reading this right after getting stuck in a jam, you would totally agree.)
Paying 1.50 is a lot of money, thought I don’t use the toll route everyday( especially not during off peak hours), there are days when I use it more then once, so lets just take it as though I use it 365 times a year. Imagine that is getting used to paying an additional 547.5 a year!! Well, the point here is not that I want to take this issue up to the authorities (love to, if they would actually listen), instead it helped me understand that we has human have this remarkable ability to adapt to circumstances when needing to. Another example would be the recent hike in oil prices, everyone was complaining, but most people went as far as that, because they somehow still managed to do as much driving as they would normally do.
So then I asked myself, why can I force myself to save money that same way, yes I could complain and make fuss over it, but as long as that’s as far as I go, will I really need to care. If we can adapt to paying toll, money that never actually comes back to us, why can’t we pay toll to our self in the form of savings, money that actually comes back to us (never left us in the first place to begin with). Imagine, using the same figures as the actual toll paid, if we were to save 1.50 a day which would equal 547.5 in a year, we would have 1642.5 in 3 years!! Let’s say then you put that in some sort of investment vehicle, with interest of 6% per annum, imagine how much you would have in 10 years!! That too cash out of nothing, well this just one example, you can even do the same with money you get as windfall, or supplementary income, imagine if you earned 3000 a month, tell your mind that your earning 2800 and the additional 200 could be put as savings, or if that does not work, the next time you get a raise or bonus, remember, that is income besides your normal pay, so save it and let it work for you for once. After working for money, at some point its time we put or money to work for us!

Money Money Money
The question that undoubtedly crosses every person's mind, at least at some point in their lives is- "How do I make money". Firstly, what i have to share with your here is things that have just randomly crossed my mind and because the subject at hand covers a very broad spectrum, be ready for some random inclusions and some missing tips, but either way, its my two cents that hope fully it would earn you a couple of cents (more I am hoping of course).
Have a Clear Goal
Yes, you have definitely heard this same overly used piece of advice, but sometimes, its one of the fundamentals that is very much overlooked. We are constantly bombarded with opportunities( unless we walk with our around with closed eyes and a closed mind)and when overwhelmed, we tend to skip form one avenue to another, not really focusing and this lack of persistence is what makes us less successful in that area as compared to others who truly gave their best shot and devotion. A clear example would be a enterprising person trying on new ideas to him such as selling insurance, to multi-level market schemes, to a new business idea of setting up a cafe with a pyramid scheme money making opportunity. While all are viable sources for income, its important that significant amount of attention and dedication be focused on each before ruling it out as not being "my kind of thing".
Look to Learn Not to Just Copy.
Some of us like reading about how others such as Bill Gates, Warrant Buffet, and other less known millionaires made their fortunes by, enduring hardship, going against the tide, building on their misfortunes, growing form their failures, and mostly we enjoy knowing that a good percentage of millionaires are college dropouts and previously failed miserably, and sometimes, this can do more harm then good if looked upon form the unintended point of view. I personally feel that the reason these hardships are highlighted are to indicated that these masters of their domains are flesh and blood like you and me, nevertheless, what we should be looking for is to understand how they used their foresightedness to make opportunity out if crisis and to creatively outthink the rest and in the process take positive risks to eventually get that one “Big break”. So to copy their already exposed ways might just not be the wises idea on the planet and thinking its ok to keep failing as they did because it eventually leads to success is a wrong schemata to be following. Learn, emulate the good habits, and use the creativity to make your own differences and earn your own “Big break”.
Be Genuine, and Never Selfish.
Be genuine at all cost, and this would earn your respect, admiration and also trust, a very important word for business and profitability. Your purpose is to make money, but sharing ideas, and helping people along the way will not only show that you care, but would also increase your chance of people wanting to do business with you, making recommendations, shooting referrals in your direction and sharing they creative ideas and views with you. When your see others doing well, be happy and look for ways of your own that could lead you on the path to being just as successful instead of wasting your time and mind space being jealous or envious of their achievements.
Dedicate Time.
Determining what you want to focus is one thing, then comes there part where you would have to allocate time to work on your project that would put your on course to making those dollars you want. Keep in mind that the project is the primary focus and not the money, because if you start thinking in terms of dollars and cents, you’re going to jeopardize the quality of your work, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Daily time allocation toward your project is vital for so many different reasons, besides focus (which I mentioned like for the 100th time already), it keeps the momentum going, encourages discipline, reinforces your commitment and over time can even become so routine that it neutralizes the “evil” power of distraction. Don’t bite of more then your can chew (though you might feel tempted too) and spoil it all, just start with very small amounts of time; even 10minutes would do, and build up form then on.
Know When to Ask.
If you can’t do everything single handedly, don’t quite like a loser, ask for help! But isn’t that what loser’s do so you ask? (Even if you don’t think that way, you probably are afraid to ask for the simply reason that people might think lowly of you) Well, asking for help, tips and advice is a very natural thing to do in human interaction, because no one knows how to do everything (unless you met God, and if you did please put in a good word for me).
Emotional Intelligence
Yes, intelligence is not just high IQ’s or good knowledge, its also the combination of wisdom, along with practice and consistence which is what it takes to control a very feeble thing called emotion. More often then not, emotions get in the way of our progress, and if you are like me, you will know that there are days when I just feel so horrible I don’t want to move( yes, lie in bed n sleep my troubles away). However, this happening a little too often would stop you from really making any good progress as you would not be able to put in good consistent work towards your goal of a swollen back account.
Don’t sweat, once in awhile is only being human, but if it gets in your way, then make sure u at least do a little bit of work. Force yourself to get out, bit your tongue and just start, even little bit of work is better then none at all. The most important thing is to start, and you will be surprised, that the hardest bit is done with as momentum form then on usually takes over. (If it doesn’t, at least u did something, you moved out of bed like in my case, so you still get plus points and are entitled to pet your own back)

Character
Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words,
Be careful of your words, for your words become your deeds,
Be careful of your deeds, for your deeds become your habits,
Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character,
Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.
Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words,
Be careful of your words, for your words become your deeds,
Be careful of your deeds, for your deeds become your habits,
Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character,
Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.

JOHNCENTSWORTH
A journey does always start with a begging, a begging which then must have an end. It’s not right to begin till we first know what we seek. Crossroads will show along they way, wise must we be to not go astray. Fix the goal in the mind of you the achiever, only then can purpose push us forth all the way. Make fortitude your strength and laziness your conquered pray, focus a must and a heart which in good it trusts. Never allow the neigh of the inner self pity to over power the course preset prior to the journey, for then what use is all the defense and preparation, when the enemy lies no where else but within.
